Latest software build increases site response by 400%-
outperforms any MS Access based competition
(For Immediate Release: December 13, 2005) Today,
Quantec Software announces the completion of its conversion of
all existing database query code with next generation script.
We have optimized all SQL queries on our clients' ecommerce
websites to run much faster than before. We have done
this to meet the needs of our clients' growing businesses.
All code optimization is now complete. Clients do not
need to intervene for this upgrade to take effect. An
automated script was written to find and replace all instances
of the old script with the new, highly robust code. This
update comes at no additional expense to either new or
existing customers.
Now, for the technical side of the discussion. A query
to an MS Access database can take anywhere from a couple
milliseconds to as much as several seconds under high demand,
multi-user sessions (two or more connections to the same
database file). Quantec Software realizes that many of
our clients' businesses are successful and rapidly expanding,
catering to more and more HTTP requests and SQL queries every
month. In response to this increased demand, our
software developers have overhauled the entire database
indexing system, and replaced it with a smarter, more
efficient one that can do more with fewer iterated queries.
In testing this new system out, a query that normally took 400
ms now takes 112 ms to complete. This is a nearly 400%
increase in performance, making its speed practical to growing
businesses like the ones we serve.
Next Up: Migrating to ASP .NET 2.0
ASP .NET 2.0 has been out for almost three weeks now, and yes,
we are on top of it! As you are reading this, Quantec
Software is in the process of migrating all software to ASP
.NET 2.0. The 2.0 release provides new, enhanced
features that are applicable to our clients ecommerce
websites, and thus we find it worthwhile to port all code to
this new version on behalf of our customers. Expect the
new code to be available by the end of this year.
